Fashion honours Marilyn Monroe on the “Blonde” red carpet at the Venice Film Festival.

The Hollywood heroine’s influence could be seen everywhere, from a vintage Versace gown to Ana De Armas’s “Seven Year Itch” look.

Among the celebrities who walked the red carpet at the Venice International Film Festival for the Netflix film Blonde were Ana De Armas, Brad Pitt, and Adrien Brody.

The acclaimed book by Joyce Carol Oates, released in 2000, served as the inspiration for the Marilyn Monroe movie in which De Armas portrays the Hollywood star. Australian director Andrew Dominik has been working on this movie for almost 15 years.

And finally, it got to bask in the spotlight on Thursday night. For the event, De Armas donned a salmon Louis Vuitton Grecian gown with a diamond necklace and her dark hair in a Hollywood-styled curl. A subtle tribute to Marilyn Monroe, the dress resembled the classic white gown she wore in the 1954 film Seven Year Itch, which blows up around her legs as a result of a subway grate.

Pitt, one of the movie’s producers, chose a traditional tuxedo and kept his accessories simple with a pair of adidas trainers and some black sunglasses.

Along with his partner Georgina Chapman, Adrien Brody strutted down the red carpet wearing a black suit.

Many of the attendees for the event were inspired by Marilyn Monroe, and some were even wearing dresses with her image printed on them.

Italian actress Antonella Salvucci wore an Eleonora Lastrucci gown that was likewise emblazoned with a Marilyn Monroe picture in the pop art style, while Romanian actress Madalina Diana Ghenea donned a vintage Versace dress from 1991 with a pattern built from colourful images of the actress.
