Release Date for the “cheap” $99 AirPods Lite Announced
The next iteration of Apple’s well-known AirPods headphones may debut in the second half of 2024 or the early half of 2025, according to renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. A new version of Apple’s over-ear AirPods Max headphones and a pair of AirPods that cost $99 are reported to be part of the range (released in 2020).
Along with the new AirPods Max, $99 AirPods might be available as early as next year.
The second-generation model of Apple’s AirPods, which is currently the most cheap, would cost $30 more than the $99 model. When it debuted a new set-top box that was $50 less expensive than its previous most affordable model, Apple did the same thing with its Apple TV portfolio as it did with this move to lower the price of the entry-level AirPods device.
A year before the release of the next-generation headphones, Kuo had predicted that Apple would introduce a new USB-C charging case for all of its AirPods models in 2023. But it’s feasible that Apple will update the AirPods charging cases in 2023 while keeping the earphones themselves the same until 2024 or 2025.
The AirPods Pro, AirPods Max, and USB-C compatibility could be introduced by Apple by 2024, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who also previously stated that it is doubtful that the AirPods lineup will receive any noteworthy revisions in 2023.
